Help Minder is a mobile application that aims to enhance personal safety and emergency communication by connecting users with designated friends and family members, referred to as Helpers. The platform allows individuals to take on roles as either an Alerter, a Helper, or both, providing a versatile solution for various safety-related scenarios.

Core Functionality

 <li>Alerters are users who may need assistance and can be one of the following:

 <li>A senior or disabled individual living independently who requires support.</li>
 <li>A child away from their parents seeking to alert family in troubling circumstances.</li>
 <li>Anyone engaging in potentially dangerous activities, such as hiking or meeting unfamiliar individuals.</li>
 </ul>
 </li>
 <li>Helpers are those who consent to receive alerts from Alerters. This group can include app users as well as individuals added via email or phone number, allowing for notifications that include Alerter locations and other detailed information based on the nature of the alert.</li>
</ul>

Types of Alerts
<ul>
 <li>Need Help Alert: This default alert can be triggered by pressing a prominent button within the app, issuing voice commands to Siri, or by calling a registered landline.</li>
 <li>Check-In Alert: Alerters can schedule regular check-ins; if they fail to do so, Helpers will be notified.</li>
 <li>Delayed Alert: Users can set a timer for alerts. If the countdown concludes without cancellation, Helpers receive notifications along with additional context.</li>

Alert Triggering Methods

 <li>App Interaction: Utilizing the red "Need Help" button, recording messages, or employing home screen widgets.</li>
 <li>Voice Commands: Activating alerts through Siri with customized phrases.</li>
 <li>Check-In and Delayed Alerts: Automatically triggered based on activity status.</li>
 <li>Alexa Integration: Enabling alerts via the Help Minder Skill for Alexa devices.</li>
 <li>Landline Call: Calling a designated Help Minder Land Line Caller ID number from a registered phone triggers alerts.</li>

 <li>In-App Push Notifications: These alert settings take precedence over silent modes on Helpers’ devices.</li>
 <li>Email: Notifications sent directly to registered email addresses complicate communication process.</li>
 <li>Phone Calls and SMS: Immediate alerts sent via calls and text messages facilitate urgent communications.</li>
</ul>

User Scenarios
<ul>
 <li>Seniors and Disabled Individuals: The app enhances independent living by enabling immediate notification to trusted Helpers needing assistance.</li>
 <li>Children and Teens: Young users can effectively inform guardians in any alarming situation.</li>
